So my last spring break as a college student is coming to an end. It wasn't all that bad despite the economic recession. :-)
Last weekend started with a get-together with one of Dad's old professors from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Seeing that Dr. Trick and his wife were in town, my father invited them over for dinner on the 20th. The three of us then went hiking in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park on Saturday morning. The plan was to do another hike the day after that, but we went to a farmers' market instead as it was too windy outside.
The rest of the week was relatively uneventful as I mostly studied for the upcoming IEOR 161 midterm. Prof. Lim's class isn't easy for sure. On the other hand, Mom and I went shopping for groceries a few times. I know this sounds weird, but it's so fun to go to supermarkets and look at the food!
This past weekend was also amazing. The weather on Saturday was just right, so we went to Stevens Creek County Park for a hike. It's one of those places that never gets old. Considering that it had rained a lot in recent weeks, Stevens Creek Reservoir was almost full and will likely overflow soon.
Our family friend Karen came over for dinner later that evening. This was overall the best part of the weekend. The conversations were mostly about food and wine as Karen is a foodie. Of course, there were also the usual lawyer jokes. Haha.
As today wasn't too hot either, my family went to Rancho San Antonio County Park in the afternoon. Other than that, I had to return to Berkeley tonight. These breaks are never long enough, if you ask me. On the bright side, I'm excited to see Bryan, Danny and Tyler again. :-)
At any rate, I should get back to studying for my midterms. Wish me luck!
