got a cool new gaming laptop

I recently acquired an interest in autonomous vehicles and am considering working with them at my next job. In order to prepare for interviews, I've been experimenting with a tool called CARLA that is used for autonomous driving research. Because this program has high system requirements, my father decided that it was time to get me a new computer. After some consideration, Dad and I agreed that an MSI GL75 Leopard gaming laptop would be the best.

In any case, my new computer has a hexa-core processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB solid-state drive. It also has a really fast GTX 1660 Ti GPU. This computer is definitely the fastest I've had so far. Thanks, Dad!

remembering Corinne Rutherford

It seens 2020 just keeps getting worse. I found out last night that my old classmate Corinne has passed away. So far, the cause of death isn't clear. But what I do know is that she was only 33 and left the world too soon. I hate this fucking year.

One of my favorite memories with Corinne was hanging out with her and some mutual friends back in 9th grade. Although we didn't get the chance to talk much since, she was one of the sweetest people ever. We actually just reconnected on Facebook last December. I was hoping to catch up with her in the near future, but some things just aren't meant to happen. :-(

In any case, my thoughts are with the Rutherford family during this incredibly difficult time. I hope they find the peace they deserve.

September 12 update: Corinne's brother Ian has posted a video of the memorial service.
