So my family went to Stevens Creek Reservoir today to test our new rubber raft. The adventure began with a mishap as we lost an oar blade after just five minutes on the water. The blade wasn't securely fastened to the handle and slid off. It's probably now somewhere on the bottom of the reservoir. Oh dear!

The good news is that we weren't stranded on the lake. Though we still had the other oar and were able to guide the raft to the shore, the whole thing was a scary experience. One can only imagine how much worse it would be if we were in the middle of the ocean.

In any case, Dad is planning to go back to Stevens Creek County Park tomorrow. Let's hope the same thing won't happen again. :-)

new rubber raft

As crazy as it sounds, my parents bought an inflatable rubber raft at Mel Cotton's Sporting Goods this morning. I can't wait to try it out on the water, especially considering that we all love the outdoors.

Dad is thinking about going to Stevens Creek Reservoir in Stevens Creek County Park tomorrow. It seems to be the perfect spot as we often go hiking there. I'm a little nervous but also super excited at the same time!
